20 gifts for coffee lovers that they’re gonna love!
Shopping for gifts can be really, really painful. But if you’re looking for gifts for coffee lovers, good news! Your task just got a LOT easier, and there are gifts to fit pretty much every budget out there. Whether you’re shopping for your spouse or a coworker you barely know (ahem, Secret Santa?), coffee-related gifts are pretty foolproof. Scroll down for 20 great gift ideas that will put a smile on just about any coffee lover’s face!
#1. Gourmet Coffee
This is what you’d call a “no-brainer.” This is why gifts for coffee lovers are easy to buy! Every coffee drinker, whether they’re accustomed to Folgers or something way more exotic, will appreciate a gift of gourmet coffee. For bonus points, find out how your gift recipient likes to prepare coffee and then choose the right coarseness. It’s easy if you just follow these guidelines:
Espresso or Aeropress: Look for a fine or extra-fine grind
Standard drip coffee maker, Chemex, or any type of pour-over coffee cone: A medium grind should do in most cases
French press or cold brew: Coarse grind
If you’re not sure and don’t have the time or energy to find out what kind of grind to buy, just go medium. Most coffee lovers have an automatic drip coffee maker even if they don’t use it all that often.
There’s also the chance that your lucky gift recipient has a grinder and likes to grind his or her own beans at home. If that’s the case, buy whole bean coffee and forget about fine/medium/coarse.
The $12 price tag on this fine-grind coffee by Primos makes this a nice choice for a Secret Santa gift.
Delicious coffee. Works great with my espresso machine. Rich and aromatic.

Medium grind: Lion Toasted Coconut 2-pack
Mmm. Toasted coconut! Give one as a gift and keep the other one for yourself! Shh. It’ll be our little secret.
We are coffee snobs who usually go for single origin, fresh roasted, aromatic coffees… and yet we love Lion Coffee’s Hawaiian flavored brews. They are laid back, no fuss, delicious, friendly island flavors.
Coarse grind: Two Volcanoes Coarse-Ground Espresso Blend
Two pounds of awesome Guatemalan coffee, perfectly ground for use in a French press.
I have tried this in a regular brewing coffee pot and in a french press. Both have similar results which other coffees can’t beat. It won’t be long before this 2 pound bag is gone.
Whole bean coffee: Volcanica Tarrazu Original Costa Rican Coffee Beans
Kickass whole bean coffee from Costa Rica. Gifts for coffee lovers should all taste as good as this one.
My son is a coffee fanatic! He is always trying new coffees and this is, by far, his favorite so far!
This list of gifts for coffee lovers isn’t really in any particular order. If it were, the Aeropress would probably be #1, not #2!
It’s basically just a bunch of plastic parts, but it is so legendary among coffee enthusiasts that there are literally Aeropress-only coffee making competitions. There’s seriously an entire subculture built around this handy little coffee maker. And at about $30 or so, it’s very affordable! To learn more, read my awesome review of the Aeropress from some time ago.
Excellent coffee maker. Do yourself a favor and buy it. I haven’t had it long enough to comment but so far, the device makes excellent coffee,. Very smooth, and comparable to espresso (and cheaper). Buy it.

Giving a coffee tumbler as a gift might seem lame…UNLESS IT’S THE GREATEST COFFEE TUMBLER EVER MADE! Here are some fun stats:
Total reviews of this tumbler on Amazon as of this writing: 15,377
Total 5-STAR reviews: 12,633
Total 4-STAR reviews: 1,744
That’s 82% of all reviews that are either 4 or 5 stars, in case you’re keeping score. Spill-proof, idiot-proof, this is the Mother of All Travel Mugs! Also, here’s a little review of this coffee tumbler. I wrote it. All by myself.
The new AUTOSEAL model only dispenses its contents when the AUTOSEAL button is depressed. Thus, it is “leak-proof” and “spill-proof”. If I throw it in my gym bag and forget to lock it, it won’t leak! Woohoo! And, if I knock it over on my desk, it wont’ spill a drop.

Hmm…gifts for coffee lovers…oh, I know! How about the Cuisinart CPO-850, an amazing SCAA-certified pour over coffee brewer! Pour over coffee brewers are better than “regular” coffee makers (notice I didn’t call them brewers) because of how they pre-soak the coffee grounds before brewing. Also, it’s SCAA-certified which is kind of a big deal (I wrote about 10 great SCAA-certified coffee makers here). Also, it’s Cuisinart. Bonus points!
P.S. Check out the review below. It reads like a closing statement from a grand jury deposition. This guy ain’t playin’!
I highly recommend this coffee maker. It produces the best coffee that I have ever tasted from an automatic/drip machine and I am happy with my purchase. I am awarding this product 5 stars and, in my opinion, it is deserving of its SCAA certification.

There are a lot of “unique” coffee mugs out there, but none like this! The Clay in Motion Handwarmer Mug is handmade by a husband and wife team who apparently really love making pottery. They’re available in both left- and right-hand configurations and each one is one-of-a-kind.
I received this kind of mug as a gift. It loved it so much I purchased two more for gifts for my friends. They are a hit! The only downside is that if you like your coffee extra hot, it’s a little difficult to hold until the brew cools a tad bit. It doesn’t take long, so I most definitely recommend and give 5 stars!

If you read #2, the Aeropress, I called it “legendary.” Know what else is legen…wait for it…DARY? The Chemex (I reviewed it here). It’s a pour over coffee maker that’s been awesome since the 1960s. It also has its own subculture, and the thing that makes it special (other than the amazing design) is its proprietary coffee filters that are pure coffee magic. It’s basically a piece of history, and for about $40, it’s probably one of the most amazing gifts for coffee lovers in the history of the universe. Do you like how I keep on saying gifts for coffee lovers? Yeah. Google’s making me do it. I’m a slave to The Google! I am so ashamed, but not really.
My mother enjoys this Chemex tremendously. Each person she serves coffee to from the Chemex says it is the most exceptional, clean, robust coffee they have ever had. The freshness is really wonderful, not sure how it works better than a traditional coffee maker or a french press, but somehow it does.

Let’s face it…we ALL know someone who should be wearing this funny coffee t-shirt!
This t-shirt is so funny I forgot to laugh.
by Anonymous Sarcastic Guy Who is Writing a Blog Post About Gifts for Coffee Lovers
Ok, this might seem like click bait, but this mug is pretty funny if you like insulting people with very naughty words. Since you might be at work while reading this wonderful list of gifts for coffee lovers, I’m gonna make you click to see how funny this mug is. When you see it, you’re going to start fantasizing about giving it to your boss! Or maybe one of your in-laws. Or maybe your next-door neighbor. Or maybe a certain POTUS.
P.S. The product review below is real!
Everyone is in love with my mug and it makes me smile as I deal with unruly clients!!!

If you saw #4, the SCAA-certified Cuisinart CPO-850 pour-over coffee brewer, and said, “oh crap I don’t wanna spend that much!” this coffee maker is basically on the polar opposite end of the price spectrum. Don’t be fooled by this coffee maker’s price tag which is less than $20. This thing is a beast. When I reviewed this Black & Decker Brew ‘n Go coffee maker, I predicted that it might outlast your next car. It’s cheap, simple, and reliable! Greatest $20 coffee gift ever. Perfect for college students and people who just want their damn coffee.
I have had this coffee maker for five years and it has brewed a perfect cup of coffee for me every morning. It is the only coffee maker I have ever owned. I am still using the same filter it came with! (editor’s note: this coffee maker comes with a permanent filter! Neil has not been using the same paper filter for five years. At least I hope not.)

Does this coffee mug look a little weird to you? It should! It’s angled. Drink from the lower lip of the mug to bathe your nose in that wonderful coffee aroma. This makes the coffee taste way better!
According to the makers of this mug: “Connoisseurs know that the “nose” of a coffee, tea or cocoa plays a vital role in the enjoyment of its fullest flavor. This distinctive design helps trap aromas to heighten the taste of your beverage by bringing your sense of smell into the simple act of drinking.”
Okay! I hate the word ‘connoisseur’ but yeah, makes sense. Sold in sets of two.
Love these mugs. Slanted, higher back allows me to breathe in the aroma of my delicious coffee and hot chocolate. Generous size as well.

When you’re shopping for gifts for coffee lovers, sometimes you gotta go big. Here’s something big: the KitchenAid Burr Grinder! It’s a thing of beauty, and when your gift recipient opens it up, fireworks are all but guaranteed. There are a lot of great burr grinders on the market (here are 9 of them) but this one is easily the most beautifully designed. It grinds coffee, and it looks pretty while doing it. At about $200 or so, this burr grinder doesn’t come cheap, but it WILL impress! Also available in silver and black.
This grinder is awesome! I love everything about it, from the way I can adjust the grind to the color. I would highly recommend this product. Really you can not go wrong with this purchase.

Pop quiz: what’s the difference between a “gourmet coffee sampler” and a “gourmet coffee gift basket“? Gift baskets are usually stuffed with junk you (and your gift recipient) don’t really want! Gourmet coffee samplers, on the other hand, tend to be sets of the stuff you DO want. This isn’t a hard-and-fast rule…honestly, I literally just made it up like 5 seconds ago…but it’s pretty true, isn’t it? Look at that picture above. It’s all coffee! And it’s great coffee. If you’re looking for gifts for coffee lovers, try finding a good coffee gift sampler. There are tons on Amazon. And you might even find a great gift basket, too. Some of them are actually really nice despite how I just mocked them a few sentences ago.
A really great experience. The recipients LOVED the coffee, and they are coffee connoisseurs. They kept raving about how delicious it was, and I love that it all comes in a nice gift wrap. Very nice gift.

From the Betcha-Didn’t-Know file: Donald Trump wasn’t the first U.S. presidential candidate to go around saying “Make America Great Again”! Ronald Reagan was way ahead of him back in 1980. Buy this mug for your politically-minded friends and relatives and play a fun game where you bet on which former U.S. president they’ll rag on the most!
P.S. LOL at “AuH20 ’64: In your heart, you know he’s right.” AuH20, of course, was the very racist friend-of-white-supremacy, Barry Goldwater. LOL,OMG, SMH.
This was purchased for a work exchange and was the hit of the party. Everyone loved looking over the slogans and trying to guess where some of them were from (noted on bottom of mug). It is super sturdy and really very nice.

Art history buffs and 14-year-old boys are gonna love this one! When the cup is cold, clothes are on. But when things get HOT…because you’ve poured hot coffee into the cup…all the clothes disappear! Gifts for coffee lovers are rarely so salacious! Give this tastefully-naughty coffee mug to an art lover or perhaps the office perv. Better yet, wrap it up and give it to yourself! Then open it in front of a large crowd at a party and be like, oh my goodness this is so naughty! And then spend the rest of the party quietly watching to see who ogles it the most…then you really know who’s who. Keep out of reach of middle-schoolers.
I look forward to drinking coffee!

Every coffee lover should own a French press! It allows the coffee lover to control the brewing process and results in coffee that tastes a million times better than anything that comes out of an automatic drip coffee maker. This SterlingPro French press is double-walled which keeps the coffee hot for longer. It also uses a double-screen system that keeps ALL of the coffee grounds out of the coffee cup. Sounds expensive, right? It’s not! And if this model doesn’t appeal to you (or your gift recipient), here’s a rundown of seven great French presses to choose from.
French presses are also great for camping!
This baby rocks. Very happy purchase, I just ordered a second as a wedding present for a friend, I’d buy again, my roommate is jealous. Solid win and nice job SterlingPro.

When you’re looking for gifts for coffee lovers, every once in a while you come across something that’s just super cool. This DeLonghi Espresso Machine is definitely one of those things! Good espresso machines can get pretty expensive, but this beautiful piece of stainless steel is pretty affordable. Plus, this is definitely the kind of gift that has a built-in WOW factor.
Also, here’s a little public service announcement: THERE IS NO ‘X’ IN ESPRESSO! Please don’t call it “expresso.” Ever.
If you want a genuinely excellent, attractive espresso maker at a reasonable price but don’t have a lot of room for one of the behemoth “standard” machines, the De’Longhi EC680 is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

If the coffee lover you’re shopping for is also a cold brew fanatic, they’re gonna LOVE this. Hario is one of the best-known names in the coffee world (the Hario V60 coffee dripper is world-famous), and this cold brew coffee pot is wildly popular. Not too long ago, I wrote a whole thing about how to make cold brew coffee, and this Hario Mizudashi makes it super easy. It’s also super affordable at less than $20!
If you’re shopping for a Christmas gift, don’t let the “cold brew” part of this gift stop you. “Cold brew” only refers to the brewing method. Lots and lots of people at Christmas time will be enjoying nice, hot coffee made in their Hario cold brew coffee pot. It’s also great for making tea!
I’ve been using a 1000ml Mizudashi as my primary coffee brewing method for just about a year, and I absolutely love the thing. It took a little tweaking of my method to get “the perfect cup,” but now that I’ve gotten it down, I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Speaking of Hario (see #17 above), here’s the classic Hario V60 Pouring Kettle! If this thing looks familiar to you, it’s probably because this kettle is a staple in coffee houses everywhere. Baristas love this thing to death because it allows for a nice, accurate pour. Chemex users in particular swear by it.
If making the best cup of coffee possible is your endgame, you need to be precise with your water. That may sound silly, but with some brewers it’s very important to avoid pouring water directly onto the filter. Especially when you’re blooming the coffee. Essentially, this kettle makes your life easier by removing that one variable (inaccuracy) from the equation. Plus it’s a lot more fun.

If you’re shopping for gifts for coffee lovers, this is the ultimate gift! Every jaw in the room will drop when the wrapping paper comes off and reveals the Technivorm Moccamaster. Are you worried that your coffee-loving gift recipient won’t know what it is? Don’t. Anyone who’s enthusiastic about great coffee WILL definitely know about it, and they will love you until the end of time for giving it as a gift!
Now – this is the way to make coffee. They did the science, they did the engineering. The water is heated to the perfect temperature. The brewing cycle is done at the optimum time. Coffee goes into a thermal carafe that keeps it perfect for hours.

Earlier in this list of gifts for coffee lovers, I kind of made fun of gift baskets. But you know what? There’s nothing wrong with giving a gift basket! It’s just not my thing, even though I secretly love receiving them. Literally everyone loves getting a gift basket! If the coffee lover you’re buying for is all about Starbucks, then pick up one of these awesome baskets and consider your shopping done! If the Starbucks gift basket in the picture above doesn’t do it for you, there are lots more Starbuck’s baskets on Amazon and even more that feature other types of coffee and gifts.
I purchased this gift basket for myself. Shipping was extremely fast. The coffee was packaged well. This gift basket is coffee lovers dream. The coffee’s taste makes me feel like I am actually at Starbucks, without the drive. LOL. The coffee mug is of high quality and is now my go to mug. Will buy again.
